1. Opinions belong to the individual poster
SoberCircle is a website which provides an opportunity for participants to express their own opinions about their recovery. The forum is provided as an opportunity to meet on-line friends, to share information and opinions, and to create a unique profile which will allow others with a similar interest in recovering topics to contact you. Short of certain restrictions listed below, members are free to post their own opinions, which do not reflect the opinion of anyone at SoberCircle, and are not endorsed by SoberCircle. That is one of the benefits of such a forum: members express themselves. While we will moderate the forum in order to remove objectionable material, we may not always get to it immediately. Therefore, you agree when you enroll as a participant that you understand that all posts reflect the opinion of the poster, not the opinion of SoberCircle, and in order to participate, you waive your right to hold SoberCircle legally responsible for the content of individual posts.
2. No medical or psychiatric advice.
Sober Circle does not provide medical advice or offer medical or psychiatric opinions. While we will monitor content as time allows, we are not responsible for the opinions, advice, recommendations, advertising or suggestions of any participating member. Anyone who has a medical problem should contact a physician. Anyone with a serious addiction problem should get medical or therapeutic help. Anyone who feels at risk for suicide should call 911 immediately. The function of this site is simply to allow a circle of sober friends to exchange opinions and information. Therefore, before you create a profile and enter into conversation in a forum, we will require you to sign an acknowledgement that you understand these terms of use.
3. No offensive material.
As a member of SoberCircle, we will expect you to follow certain content rules, including the prohibition of any content which is illegal or otherwise prohibited. Illegal or prohibited content would include content which holds itself out as medical or legal advice, which invites other participants to engage in a criminal activity, which offers other participants an opportunity to participate in a financial scheme, pyramid, chain letter, or otherwise invites participants to send money to the poster, or which contains sexually suggestive, racially offensive, threatening or abusive language. The right to determine what material offends the online community will be the sole decision of the moderator.
4. Privacy Policy and Security
SoberCircle will collect information from participants, and store it. The information we will collect when you visit our website includes: your email address and IP address along with the information you have entered (name, date of birth, location, pictures.)
SoberCircle will never share your information with other parties without your consent. Consent to share your information is asked when you register and can be changed at any time through your account settings.
On occasion we may send you an email notifying you of new services available, or containing marketing information. You will always have the opportunity to click on “Remove me from the notification emails” on our website, so that you do not receive advertising information.
SoberCircle has implemented security procedures designed to protect your data privacy, and we monitor our site to make sure the data we have collected remains secure, to delete spam, to identify and report attempted security breaches. Nevertheless you agree to use this website “as is”, there may be occasions when the site is down for service or otherwise, or when security is breached. We ultimately make no warranty or guaranty as to the quality, accuracy, reliability or security of the webpage.
5. Links to other websites
This website will contain links to Third Party sites which will contain content over which SoberCircle has no control. Bear in mind when you follow a link to another website that SoberCircle has no responsibility for what you find there, and does not review, moderate or maintain those sites. We do not necessarily endorse or recommend their products. Follow those links, and use those websites at your own risk.
6. Proprietary Material
Ours: All material created for this website, including software, design, language, and the SoberCircle name and logo, are the copyrighted work of Dual Diagnosis Management, LLC and belongs solely to DDM. Our website content is protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret and any other applicable laws. You may not copy modify, translate, publish, broadcast, transmit, distribute, perform, display or sell the contents. If you have any questions, comments or complaints, please contact the webmaster at webmaster@sobercircle.com .
Yours: By posting your own content, pictures, opinions, to the website, you give SoberCircle.com a limited license to use, modify, display, reproduce and distribute such content solely on our website and through SoberCircle services. We need this so that we may publish your information, your content, music, or image, without paying you a fee. This license is non-exclusive (you can give or sell the same material anyone else) and will terminate when you remove your content from SoberCircle, which you may do at any time.
Guest Authors: Under special agreement with certain authors who have been invited to participate on the website, their copyrighted material has been loaned to SoberCircle under a limited license. No user, participant or member of SoberCircle may copy, use, modify, reproduce, distribute or otherwise disseminate this copyrighted material, under the full penalty of law.
